“Endless Summer” – new sculpture for Gainsborough town centre
This involved working with a variety of 3rd sector groups who wanted to see a memorial work of art, following the early demise of an active arts development officer and community artist in the town. It involved raising a £20K budget, consulting with local people, devising a national search for the right artist, agreeing the site with Town Centre Improvement planners and liaising on the installation which took place in autumn 2010.
"Tim's vast knowledge and experience of arts organisations and local government proved invaluable when it came to applying for grants and donations; and when dealing with the - (to us) - tiresome technical and legal aspects of the public art project. A piece of public art as a memorial is inevitably an emotional project for many of the people involved, and he brought a sensitive and dignified manner to dealings with all sectors of the community, be they individuals or community groups, representative officials or local business interests. We wouldn't hesitate to work with Tim again." Julie Willoughby and Mick Ford, of the Riverside Memorial Sculpture group in Gainsborough, Lincs. | Title Text. |
